Bakersfield is comparatively a large city in at the southern end of California, United States. Bakersfield is known as one of the rapidly growing population cities in the nation. Bakersfield is ranked as the 11th fastest populating city comprising the population of almost 250,000. The town is California’s 11th largest city and stands on the position of 57th in the nation it’s population was listed approximately 328,692 as the calculation of 2008. Bakersfield Jam; a NBA Developmental League team, and the Bakersfield Condors; an ECHL AA-level hockey team are positioned at Rabobank Arena in downtown of Bakersfield. Previously this Rabobank Arena was called Cenntennial Garden. Not only this multicultural venue is also home to basketball teams of CSU Bakersfield, the California State High School Wrestling Championships, sporting, and amusement conventions. An ex team af2 team named Bakersfield Blitz once played at Rabobank Arena.
Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark plays host to the Bakersfield's minor league baseball team, the Blaze and the local high school baseball tournaments took place at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. This magnificent venue is cited in the north downtown. This arena was incorporated in 1941; it is the sole professional baseball stadium lasting in the United States and the oldest stadium in the California League.
McMurtrey Aquatic Center a famous water games resort that is suitable for families as well as kids. This aquatic center hosts an Olympic-sized swimming pool where high-school events takes place, a recreational pool having two waterslides, a smaller "child safe" pool, lockers, showers. In total, this arena is full-time entertainment with sport and good food all at one place. Visitors can enjoy the hockey at full service “The Ice Sports center”. Bakersfield also home to California’s largest soccer vicinity called The Kern County Soccer Park.
For the Ben Hogan Tour and Nike Tour Bakersfield serves as a stop. PGA Tour qualifying proceedings and NCAA Division II regional and tournaments are also hosted locally. Events that take place here are the private Seven Oaks Country Club, the Bakersfield Country Club, the Rio Bravo Country Club and the public River Lakes Golf Club.
Visitors can enjoy a nice evening watching a concert or movie in Fox Theater. Fox theater is a refurbished cite that manifests different movies, concerts and diverse local and outside artists. At present the city is home to three famous theaters naming Edwards Cinemas Bakersfield Stadium 14 and United Artist East Hills Mall 10 and Reading Cinemas Valley Plaza 16, the only megaplex.
A variety of fun-filled activities entertains tourists and the natives at The Dome. Earlier “The Dome” was called a Strongbow Stadium. This is the place, where most of the tourists like to spend their nightlife for its colorful events, enthusiastic performances and rich food options.
