Thousand Oaks is spectacular town usually known as commonly known as “T.O.”. The city is jeweled with immensely grown oaks circling the whole place. The town is actually named Thousand Oaks due to the huge growth of oak trees. Conejo is mostly populated by Thousand Oaks. Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park were regions of a planned city somewhere in 1950. This city consisted of 2,000 family houses, over 1,000 custom homes along with a 200-acre shopping area also featuring a huge park and other small shopping plazas.
This lush green city provides ample amount of recreation and entertainment for natives and outsider especially keeping the youth in mind. Games include AYSO soccer, Club Soccer such as Newbury Park Soccer Club and Conejo Valley United, Conejo Youth Basketball Association, Conejo Valley Thunder Wrestling, Pop Warner football, Little League baseball, CYFFA flag football, girls’ softball, organized swim team leagues, ice hockey, lacrosse and field hockey attract innumerous families throughout the year. Sports are a passion in this town.
The little league team of Thousand Oaks won the World Championship, winning the Championship game 20-3 standing the first Little League team in Ventura County in August 1994. This victory followed by the victor of National Championship by a Senior Division (ages 14-16) Thousand Oaks Little League team in 1996. After a decade, Thousand Oaks won the World Championship in the Big League Division (ages 16-18) of Little League in 2006.
In professional sports, the city is home to the Sherwood Country Club, an excellent golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus world-class golf course is in Thousand Oaks. This golf course host professional sports holding golf tournament hosted by Tiger Woods every year. Thousand Oaks is blend of sheer natural beauty with sport lovers. This makes it a perfect cozy vacation spot. Else than sports there are parks having swing and games for younger kids to enjoy themselves.
