Riverside County is nestled in the southeast of the nation. This city encompasses the land ranging from Orange County to the Colorado River connecting Arizona. In the south of California Inland Empire, this small town Riverside is located. It is originally a part Riverside-San Bernardino region. In 2000, the total population of the city was estimated over 1,545,387 that grew considerably to the number of 2,073,571 in 2007.
Contrary to its name, the city is a desert. Riverside is quite near to Los Angeles. In past few years, a large number of Los Angeles natives shifted to this town due to the comparatively reasonable prices of land. This resulted in quite an increase in population. Natives and outsiders take Riverside as a preferable dwelling. A bigger portion of famous Joshua Tree National Park is located in the county.
This place is not ranked as one of the larger counties but this does not effect the entertainment scene of this city. The town offers a lot for the natives as well as the tourists to enjoy. Coachella Valley of Riverside is crammed with enthusiastic places counting Indian Wells, La Quinta, Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs and Palm Desert. Indio is the core of prime date production.
Riverside is home to the top important California Citrus State Historic Park. In this park, some valuable diminishing traditional land is preserved. This site echoes the esteemed heritage of industry that glorified California’s history. Park is a remembrance of the golden era of citrus industry particularly in southern California.
Living Desert Zoo and Gardens was initiated on November 10 back in 2007. This recreational venue is located at 47-900 Portola Avenue. It is open every day having a ticket worth $12 for adults. Assorted species of Amphibians including frogs, toads and salamanders are exhibited here. Currently this venue is only American zoo and garden exclusively devoted to all the desserts of the world. This place pays homage to the deserts delivering environmental education, resident wildlife rehabilitation, plant proliferation and captive breeding of native as well as African species.
